From 19 to 21 May 2026, London will once again become a meeting point for the international design scene as Clerkenwell Design Week opens its doors – and Thonet will be present at two locations.
Within the impressive setting of Haberdashers’ Hall, Thonet will present a curated selection of current models alongside exciting new releases. The focus is on innovative material developments such as the DARK MELANGE canework, which combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus Dessau, the iconic cantilever chair S 33/S 34 will also be presented in a new “soft version” with textile upholstery – a modern reinterpretation of a design classic that unites comfort and form in a distinctive way.
At the same time, Thonet invites visitors to the Catapult Space in the German Pavilion to discover the addition to the JS . THONET collection. Alongside the established S 64 cantilever chair, attention is drawn primarily to the new S 411 lounge chair. The model is part of the signature collection JS . THONET A PERSONAL INTERPRETATION BY JIL SANDER and embodies a refined, elegant design language that sensitively brings together tradition and contemporary design.
