Studying in comfort on Thonet chairs: the Züricher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts, ZHdK) furnished numerous classrooms and event rooms with various versions of programme range S 160 (Delphin Design, 2010) as part of its move to the Campus Toni-Areal in 2014. Students and visitors who attend the almost 600 events that are held there each year can now relax and lean back in the school halls and auditoriums as well as the concert hall, movie theatre and organ hall on about 1,500 copies of the chair, which was especially designed for open-plan use and to be exceptionally comfortable. 

The chairs also appeal to the eyes: they are presented in soft shades of aubergine and green and serve as colourful accents in dark concert halls. In bright, wood-clad event rooms, black chairs assure striking visuals. Thanks to the practical linking technique of the S 160, the versions with armrests can be linked together easily and safely while also conserving space. The chairs are easily stackable, which enables fast assembly and disassembly for the numerous different events. All copies used in the university have flame-retardant surfaces at the customer’s request. The conference room has already been furnished with a set of cantilever chairs S 64 N with transparent plastic mesh for a few years.
