LE PIGALLE

The Le Pigalle Design Hotel is located on the south slope of Montmartre, only a few minute walk from Place Pigalle in Paris. It carries the surname “Hôtel de Quartier”: the croissants are delivered by the bakery next door, the books offered at the hotel kiosk are selected by the nearby book dealer, and the music playing in the bar is compiled by a DJ living at Place Pigalle. It is no surprise that Le Pigalle is a popular meeting point for local artists and designers since it unites hotel, café, bar and restaurant beneath one roof.

The interior designers Charlotte de Tonnac and Hugo Sauzay of the Paris agency Festen created a mix of vintage charm and contemporary elements – always keeping an eye on the goal to evoke emotions one might have at home. For this purpose they selected 39 copies of the classic Vienna Coffee House Chair 214 stained in brown for the restaurant on the ground floor. In addition, visitors can dine on one of the eleven tubular steel cantilever chairs model S 33 by Mart Stam with buffalo leather seats. The typical 19th century Paris building was largely preserved during the conversion.
