The “Gleneagles”, which opened in 1924, offers pure luxury to this day: the 5-star hotel offers a golf course and several tennis courts as well as various spa facilities, stylish meeting rooms and exclusive cuisine – including Scotland’s only restaurant with two Michelin Stars. Another highlight is the Birnam Brasserie, which was refurnished in the classic Paris style as part of a careful renovation.
Susanna Kingston chose classic Thonet bentwood chairs to combine relaxed casualness with the highest standard of service and culinary expertise, which was perfected in France, at the Gleneagles as well. The project’s chief designer selected a mix of models 215 R and 210 R for the redesign of the brasserie – each in walnut with wicker cane backrest. The timeless designs originate in the 19th century and perfectly fit in with the Gleneagles’ elegant and cosy ambience.
