A new and exciting Thonet showroom has opened its doors in central Vienna, on the bustling Wipplingerstraße in the city’s first district.
The exhibition is a contemporary tribute to the company’s rich history and combines iconic bentwood and tubular steel classics with the latest coveted Thonet designs. Accessed through the Die Cafetière café, the showroom gives guests the opportunity to try out the products for themselves and see the quality of the designs up close.
Die Cafetière is an on-trend coffee house run by Peggy Strobel, long-term manager of the two-Michelin-star Mraz & Sohn restaurant, who has fulfilled a dream with this venture and added a new highlight to the Viennese coffee scene. The coffee house was already a Viennese institution under the name Café Naber. Now, the new showroom will also be used as a venue for regular events as well as temporary art and design exhibitions like this one.
