The highly customisable S 760 range offers versatile and space-saving, stackable seating. The chairs have been designed with efficiency in mind, even if the room layout changes regularly, and are a particularly good choice for spaces with high-capacity seating. With a wide range of features, the S 760 range easily meets the exacting requirements of event, conference and training venues but also holds its own as a standard chair in canteens, waiting areas or around a table. The S 760 consists of an ergonomically contoured seat shell made of moulded plywood, which is connected to the two tubular steel legs via plastic leg bracket coverings. A stacking groove integrated into the plastic coverings automatically centres the next chair in a stack, allowing up to 20 chairs to be stacked almost vertically. The optional, anti-panic row-linking system is intuitive to use and enables smooth linking without the need for any additional parts or tools. The S 760 is available with or without armrests. Both versions can be stacked or linked in any combination. A range of complementary accessories offers further options for customisation. Fold-out writing tablets as well as clip-on row numbers and seat numbers are all available. If a seating space has requirements that cannot be met by the standard customisation options prove, Thonet can, as always, create a customised design catering to the particular project specifications. The range also features two trolleys to easily transport the chairs: the S 7608 stacking trolley and or the S 7609 stacking trolley with a handle, both of which are fitted castors and a locking mechanism.

Uwe Sommerlade, the son of a civil engineer, was born in 1961. As a child he spent a good amount of time at his father’s office and designed his first houses and objects there. In his grandfather’s joinery shop, he learned how to work with wood at an early age. After receiving his baccalaureate and completing an apprenticeship as a joiner, he went on to study design in Kassel. In 1992, together with two partners, he founded the office Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade there. Since then he has been developing internationally successful products for renowned clients. He established his own studio in 2011 after the death of Christian Lepper.
