PRIVATE APARTMENT
Interior designer Britta Weißer from Berlin chose four chairs model 404 F for the redesign of a private apartment in Potsdam. The wooden chair range 404 designed by Stefan Diez in 2007 references the Thonet bentwood heritage and is also characterised by an innovative construction principle. The bent legs and armrests of the chairs 404 F in the living room merge in a kind of “knot” and are embedded on the bottom of the ergonomically shaped seat. The organically designed backrest comfortably flexes – a feature that adds to the high sitting comfort. The chairs used in the Potsdam apartment are uniformly kept in black and, thanks to their curved wooden elements, look especially elegant. The bright, friendly interior design concept of the cosy dining area is decisively characterised by touches of white and wood tones, allowing the Thonet chairs to establish a stark contrast and enrich the interior in a special way.
