Located in the heart of the city of Bergen in Norway, Hotel Zander K, with its modern façade that is characterised by large windows, forms a suspenseful contrast with the surrounding classicist architecture. Inside the hotel, the Stockholm architectural and design office Claesson Koivisto Rune has created a functional and, at the same time, inspiring and comfortable place of retreat for guests.
In the generous restaurant and bar area kept in green and earthy shades, special versions of Thonet’s bentwood classic 214 are used: the combination of light and dark wood that alternates in the individual chair elements – the backrest, the inside of the backrest, and the foot ring beneath the seat – makes them very special. The two different chair versions accentuate the contemporary, lively look of the interior.
