Sam Hecht und Kim Colin, Industrial Facility

Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, Industrial Facility

Sam Hecht & Kim Colin formed the London design studio Industrial Facility in 2002. The products, furniture and exhibition designs that they create combine a careful consideration of form, utility and simplicity while highlighting their unique understanding of the requirements of modern life.

Sam Hecht, who originates from London, is a trained industrial designer. Kim Colin, from Los Angeles, is trained as an architect. Together they have completed renowned projects for international clients with their philosophical yet pragmatic approach. Their work appears as one continuous project across a vast array of industries, where the cross-pollination of disciplines has enabled continuous development of the studio’s intelligence.

Industrial Facility’s clients include Emeco, Herman Miller, Mattiazzi, Muji and Santa & Cole. Hecht and Colin are Royal Designers, with the studio’s works part of the most important design collections throughout the world, including the Cooper Hewitt Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London.
