Wood

Distinctive, unobtrusive and modern - wood surfaces they way they are supposed to be. The careful selection of wood such as beech, oak, nut or others is important to us. We professionally select the woods and refine the surfaces with stains or water based varnishes, resulting in fine wood surfaces with a typical structure and harmonic, perfectly finished veneers - unmistakable and genuine. In the spirit of our sustainability policy, we only use woods and veneers from sustained forestry that are certified.

Leather

Natural, robust and vivid – leather is an exquisite natural product that fascinates. Thonet exclusively purchases highquality leather, providing the furniture with value, durability, and distinc tiveness. The material for each individual object is especially selected and perfectly processed with cuttingedge technology. No leather is like the other. The skins exclusively come from European animals, mainly from the Alpine region. They are selected in a targeted way and processed with the greatest care. Each piece of leather is naturally a unique specimen and acquires a vivid patina when used.

Canework

Canework, also known as rattan, comes from a vine that grows in the tropical virgin forests of Indonesia. When preparing canework for use in chair manufacturing, filaments are peeled off the outer shell. The resulting chair cane is especially strong and durable. It also offers several ecological benefits, including fast regrowth and natural quality and resilience. We have developed an additional process for chairs that will be subject to heavy use. The process involves stretching a highly durable yet barely visible synthetic mesh under the natural canework layer. Chairs that feature this mesh are identified by a letter „V“ after the regular model number. Please note that we cannot accept claims after the warrenty has expired.

Quality
The filaments in the canework will differ quite naturally in colour and shade; these differences are not considered to be a product fault or manufacturing error. As long as no filaments are broken and the canework is fully intact, any inconsistencies in the smooth surface of the upper layer are the result of a natural growth point and do not result in an entitlement to claim under warranty.

Outdoor

With our outdoor-collection for indoor and outdoor use we give our tubular steel classics the opportunity to present themselves in any weather. Selected icons from the Bauhaus era, including chairs S 33 and S 34 by Mart Stam, the side table B 9 and the lounge chair S 35 by Marcel Breuer and the cantilever chair S 533 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe have received a makeover and are now weather-resistant and beautiful companions outdoors as well thanks to a special technology. In the sun or rain, on the terrace or balcony, in the winter garden or dining room – our collection is a real eye-catcher in any season.
