by James Irvine, who very sensitively combines the tradition of our company with the current era, as is true with all of his designs for Thonet. In this case, metal is the dominant material. The elegantly curved bow beneath the seat, which serves as a footrest, is made of bent tubular steel and thus establishes the connection with the designs from the Bauhaus. The seats - either round or oval - are available in wood or upholstered with leather or textile covers. The frame rests on a round base plate. Available now.

| New: tables 1404. |
|
Matching the chair program 404, Stefan Diez has designed a series of tables. Formally, the connection with the chairs is established through the typical curve of the legs, and the tabletop edges are narrow, which provides the tables with a lightweight, elegant look. A special construction beneath the tabletop provides stability. The legs can be removed for transport and storage. The tables are produced in various sizes.
Available now.

is increasingly gaining in international importance. It takes place every two years and draws almost 100,000 visitors. Its focus is on the design and home sectors. Therefore, Thonet presented the products designed by Stefan Diez; there was enormous interest in his chairs and tables. James Irvine designed our booth. |

The number of visitors increased slightly to almost 62,000. This year we decided on a special concept: we invited our visitors to the Thonet Bar! The goal was intense communication with them. Andreas Krob designed our booth. Sofas from program S 5000 were placed in the lounge; the new barstools S 123 H stood at the bar. The new film was shown on a large screen, and our new Magazine was handed out. |

The new judiciary district is located on the historic ramparts; it is like a city within the city with different buildings, roads, alleys, and squares. The ensemble merges with the historic silhouette of the city with respect to urbanism and architecture. Here, all judiciary institutions are united: the High Court, the public prosecutor's office, the district and juvenile courts as well as social welfare. Communal rooms such as library, reading and computer hall as well as press room are also included. All court rooms, the judge's rooms and press rooms are furnished with Thonet: chairs S 33 and S 32/S 64, classics by Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer, as well as S 360 by Delphin Design.

Review: "Thonet Experience" |
| |
On September 27 we opened the doors to the public by offering tours through our production facilities and the museum. More than 3,000 visitors experienced Thonet up close and personal on a sunny Indian summer day. There was enormous enthusiasm and the atmosphere was charged. Several guests managed to bend wood into shapes with a lot of effort. It was a day that will be fondly remembered by all.
