B 117
Design:
THONET, 1934
When tubular steel first appeared on the scene in the furniture sector in the1920s, architect Marcel Breuer created the famous table set B 9 using this new material. The various chair models were developed afterwards. The Thonet catalog from 1930/31 already included a large range of side furniture, designed by Breuer and other architects - and also by Thonet. The series includes: The low side table with drawer, B 117. It fits well next to a bed or couch. The piece is conceived in a way that it can be pulled over the edge of the bed or couch in order to save space during the daytime.
Frame chrome-plated tubular steel, wooden elements in stained beech or with varnish in various shades.
