Café Reitschule

The legendary Munich meeting point at the Englischer Garten now presents itself with a new look: after a comprehensive restoration, the café, salon, restaurant, organgerie and bar were completely refurnished.

The architects (Palais Mai) and the restaurateurs chose Thonet to supply the furniture. The result of the efforts is a stylish ambience with furniture by Stefan Diez that harmonically matches the new architectural concept.

25 Years of Thonet NL

Thonet NL

In 1984 Paul Bitter founded his company Bitter Culemborg in Beesd. He started distributing Thonet products in Holland under the name Bitter Thonet.

After the death of Paul Bitter in 2001, Frans Bruinsma, one of his employees, took over 50% of the shares; today, he is the company's sole proprietor. He has been running the business under the name Thonet NL since 2004. The Belgian market is serviced from Holland. Together, the two countries are our strongest export partners. We wish the team continued success!

Limited Edition:
Chaise longue S 828

S 828

The anniversary of Thonet NL was the occasion for producing a special limited edition of this chaise longue from the 1980s. Danish designer and artist Torben Skov had the clever idea to separate the base frame and seat shell. Depending on their personal wishes, users can comfortably rest on a chaise longue or in a rocking chair. Only a few copies are still available.

We would like to thank you for your interest and commitment to Thonet and wish you, your family and your employees a very joyful holiday season and a good start in the New Year 2010!
