Their clear, simple form results from the harmonic interaction between the individual elements and the sensibly balanced proportions. As is the case with all of his designers, Naoto Fukasawa succeeded in sensitively reinterpreting a proven form. The tables can be combined in many ways and fit into various environments and interior design styles. Two sizes are offered: an extendable table with two integrated extension leafs or mounted as a fixed table. Versions in beech and oak; natural finish or stained in all standard stains or in Makassar precious wood. Available as of now.

Naoto Fukasawa
is among the pioneers of minimalist design. For him, design is not an expression of his personality but instead the careful improvement of existing products. His designs often surprise with unusual properties. He is one of the outstanding personalities of the international design scene.

James Irvine has designed tables to match his barstool. They are formally reserved, robust, and easy to care for – excellently suitable for the semi-public sector. With their various heights, tabletop shapes and surface variations they fit into any environment. The tabletops are round, square or have rounded corners (one-column); oval, rectangular or with rounded corners (two-column) in many different sizes. Surfaces in beech, maple, ash, black cherry, oak and nut or with laminate. Available as of now.

New: S 43 in many colors./h2>
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bauhaus we are offering this classic in eleven different colors, and the children's chairs S 43 in four pastel shades. The design comes from Mart Stam, a Dutch architect who was at the Bauhaus Dessau from 1928 until 1929. During the 1920s he developed the idea of the cantilever chair, one of the most important innovations of furniture design in the past century. Today, Thonet owns the rights to this chair. We have been producing his designs since they were originally created and delivered the first models to the Weißenhof settlement in Stuttgart in 1927. Available as of March / April.

2009: 150 years of 214.
This anniversary is unique – it has been in production longer than any other piece of furniture. This chair is the oldest classic of furniture history, and even today chairs older than 100 years are used daily. There's no better proof of quality and durability. This bentwood classic is still being produced in our Frankenberg facility using traditional production methods and is distributed internationally. For the anniversary we are offering our customers a special deal: buy 6 chairs, pay for 5 – valid immediately and throughout the anniversary year 2009. And we are re-issuing the children's chair version with seats in different colors (as of this fall).

Thonet Collect: Limited Editions 2009

20 years after its creation, we are producing a limited edition of 100 copies (25 of them are reserved for the 25th anniversary of Thonet NL for Holland). The nickname "Still-Life" stands for the dual function of couch and rocking couch; for this, you remove the reclining element and rotate the base frame. Relaxation and mobility connect with reduced and dynamic lines and make it a functional and representative living object. Frame made of chrome plated tubular steel, cover with black meshwork. Price upon request. This limited edition has a special label on the product and a hand-signed certificate of originality.
Rocking chair no. 1
At the occasion of our 190th corporate anniversary we are planning the production of a small series of the famous "Rocking Chair no. 1" for the fall 2009. This elegant and sophisticated curved bentwood chair is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Its design goes back to our company's founder, Michael Thonet, and his sons.
